I don't know which is worse--looking up at the Rays in first place in your division or the Marlins. Fortunately there is a lot of baseball to be played since it's only May. But I think we are well into the season that the excuse "we are having a slow start" just doesn't cut it anymore. Teams are now trending to where they are going to finish. Just look at the Paper Tigers.
AW, speaking of Fast Times at Ridgemont High, what's up with Spicoli in left field for the DBacks? We gave up a great prospect in Carlos Quentin to the ChiSox for this guy to be hitting above the Mendoza line. "All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine".

cookie, it sounds like sour grapes to me, my dear. while we met fans seem to have a sense that our team is sputtering and not playing up to potential, you all seem to be stuck on the denial phase. you do not have a playoff team, and all the hank crying will not turn the season around. besides the tampa bay blu-rays are not the devils of old.
AZ-- eric byrnes will be just fine... he plays hard and he will get his hits. have you ever heard him interviewed? incredibly entertaining. he is the type of guy mlb needs more of-- instead of these robots muttering awful canned answers.
i am not thrilled with the rotation reshuffling to get santana a start against the yankees. this guy should pitch every fifth day, regardless of the opponent. the yankees are well aware the mets got him and they didn't. is management in fifth grade? |

I love the digs at the NL East. Did you know that the NL East has a combined winning record against both the central and the west? AZ-Your team was just 3-4 against the Mets and Phillies, at home. Overall, they are 5-8 against teams with .500+ records. I love the teams are trending where they are going to finish statement. Ask Mets fans, Phillies fans Yankees fans and Colorado fans if September games matter. Yanks and Phils were 18-20, Colorado was 17-23 and the Mets were 26-14 after 40 last season. Yet, the Mets missed the playoffs and the other three made it. You need to get out of the sun and visit your doctor.

| Byrnes is close, but the closest thing to Spicoli in MLB is Kahlil Greene. Every time I see him I think he's learning about Cuba and having some food. |

"What Jefferson was saying was we left that England place because it was bogus! So if we don't get some cool rules around here, pronto, we'll just be bogus too."
I like that Jeff Spicoli line almost as much as I liked Rex' Carl Pavano MRI tube line.
Well played Mr. O'Rourke! |
