Took the 7 Train out to the Big Shea yesterday, just because... There is a lot going on - pile drivers, cranes, dumptrucks, etc. To some, it may look like an ugly, stark, gray mess. But to others, like us, it represents future warmth and success. For within that cordoned-off area, we'll get to watch an experienced duo of Reyes & Wright grow into veterans. We'll get to see Pedro Martinez pitch for the Mets in a World Series (Yeah - that's right!), we'll watch Carlos Beltran win an MVP. We'll see Mr. Met reunite with Mrs. Met after her long, unexplained absence. We'll get to see all that and more. And why did we think of all this, you ask? Because that's what a train ride can do, friends. This was all realized on a simple December ride on the Ol' #7. Isn't it time you hopped on the Heaven Train, walked the ramp at Willet's Point (actually, the ramp is closed - so, you'll have to run from the cops), walked out to the open side of Shea, watched the work being done and imagined what it will all be like? We think it is. Go dream a little... And bring something strong to belt down - it's blanking chilly out there! |

Jiminy Cricket was the Philly Phanatic in a previous life…Fred Wilpon is pals with Sandy Koufax... Mike Ditka is a really tough guy.. Buffalo has a Triple A baseball team. They are NOT called The Snowballs... Chan Ho Park has people thinking of naming a ballfield after him - it would be called Chan Ho Park Park... John Maine has never been, oddly enough, to Maine...
