Eat a hammerhead, Joe. The Mets may fold, but at least they haven't been mathematically eliminated, like someone we know.
SAF, Ward- I don't dislike the wildcard, but this year the Mets need to win the division. I want blood this weekend. Florida's blood. Especially that steaming turd Hanley's and that tool Cody Ross. |

| Keeping with the theme, I would like to see the Mets put a W up on the Big Board. If not we are going to have to answer to the Coca Cola company. |

| Really, nobody here likes the wild-card? You're nuts...is anybody here actually old enough to remember what a pure pennant race was like? I'm not, I've known divisions and playoffs my whole 41-year-old life, and frankly I love the playoffs, in any sport, can't imagine what it'd be like without them (and yes, the BCS system, the most money-grubbing of all, sucks). Only the Premier League somehow gets away with it, but there you have to win just to stay in, and there are multiple club tournaments that mean something. Yes, in baseball there's something to the idea of an actual "race" over the long haul of the season, even if maybe it just seems better viewed through rosy colored nostalgia glasses, but do pennants actually mean anything anymore...if in fact they ever did? Yes, games in April mean something, but peaking in September and October means more...don't tell me it doesn't. Winning the World Series is the only thing that matters, the only thing that people remember, not so much how the team got there. If you saw somebody walking around with a San Diego Padres: 2006 National League West champs shirt, your first thought would be "loser." And the more teams that have a shot at it, the better...doesn't it matter to Twins and White Sox fans right now that there's a Central Division to be won on the final weekend...when just a few years ago neither team would be playing for anything right now? That's not a good thing? It doesn't matter how you get in, it only matters that you have a shot to win it all. |

| Craig you've convinced me. I'm taking off my rosy colored glasses now. Is it too late for me to go to the Giant's Superbowl parade? Darn! |

I think I said I loved the wildcard. I dislike that it has to exist due to too many teams and watered down quality of depth. I do hate baseball in November though. Is it yea or nay for game tonight due to any bad weather?
