The Game Show Network is FABULOUS. There's nothing better than watching the old pro hosts (Burt Convey and Bob Eubanks are unparalleled in present day) and the rapier like wit of Nipsey Russell, Paul Allen, and Richard Dawson. (Match Game is my FAVORITE!)
Rex... I agree...Deadliest Catch is INSANE. Whenever you think your job REALLY sucks.. think about doing that for a living.
Also, if any of you are in need of some instant visual Prozac-- watch A&E's 'Intervention.' There is nothing that will make you feel better about your life than watching this show. (Unless, that is.. you are already a crack or meth addict yourself.)
Since we're on a non-baseball tangent... I offer up these two entertainment tidbits.
The first one IS sports related: the nuptuals of Greg 'The Shark' Norman and Chris Everett. At first I thought she was younger than he.. but they're the same age. Jeez.. he looks like crap. But here is what's worth noting. Greg's groomsmen included Matt 'I Am a Hack Golfer' Lauer AND (get ready for it.... ) COREY HART!!! No.. not MLB's Corey Hart.... but the '80's 'Sunglasses at Night' Corey Hart!!! Unfortunately, as I perused the People mag in the checkout.. i didn't see any pictures of him.. but it says he was there.
Also worth noting... Chris had Kenny Loggins serenade her new hubby as a wedding day surprise.
Second.... item in 'The Week' (my favorite snippet mag to keep me posted on what's going on in the world)-- Hugh Hefner. Apparently old Hugh was making some time with a '77 Playmate and whilst in bed... he choked on a certain type of (ahem) small boudoir toy!!! Clearly Hef was OK... but oh man... that musta been some event!!
RIP Bobby Murcer... a hard working, all-around nice guy and Yankee great. |

Wow.. Pedro flagged to get out of that game fast. And did you see his face when he was sitting in the dugout?!?!? That ain't just soreness. Perhaps I should revise the previous 'season ending' statement i made about the injury and make it 'career ending.' Sorry for the bad prediction again Mutts, but I'd rather you not get your hopes up. |
