Boy, thank God this topic only comes around once a year. Unless you're a Red Sox fan - because the ENTIRE roster is represented, isn't it? - there's going to be disappointments. My two cents - I'm a David Wright fan; I'm glad he made it. And I'd take Reyes over that cheat Tejada in a heartbeat.
Denise, interesting you mention Rollins, because there's one guy who really hasn't had an All-Star year at all. He missed a month, and is still trying to get it together. Down here, most of the conversation is around Cole Hamels, who has had more than his share of wasted efforts due to poor run support, Ryan Howard, and Pat Burrell.
Despite the fact that Howard may be the first player in 60 years to lead the league in homers and rbi at the break and not make the team, his average is still in Kingman territory, and he's on pace to break his own single-season record for strikeouts.
Pat Burrell can't pile up numbers in bunches like Howard, but he's had more clutch hits this year than I can count. Of the three Phils in question, he's probably the one. But the team is only so big.

| Joe is a wanker but Reyes does deserve a nod in the All Star Game. Not at the expense of Wright though. Wright has been an RBI machine. |

Reyes is a brat and Wright is a gentleman. And, Matts, the "hip hip" you mentioned in the original post really belongs to the catcher in the Bronx, NOT the non-all-star in Flushing. tsk tsk. xo |
